Real Estate has been my passion for 35 years. I have been a Broker for 35 years having been a partner in a firm in New York for ten years and owning and managing our business in Florida. It is one of the biggest investments that most people ever make. With my experience and work ethic, I will be with you every step of the way.
To strengthen my background, I have taken the full set of appraisal courses and did an apprenticeship in appraisal work. I have also taken the CAM courses. My primary areas are Englewood, Rotonda West, Cape Haze, Venice, Port Charlotte and North Port. I also cooperate with realtors from other areas on a referral basis.
I am a member of the Englewood Board of Realtors, Florida Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, Englewood Cape Haze Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Administration. I achieved the Exceptional Realtor Award from the Women’s Council of Realtors eight years in a row.
I served three terms on the Board of Directors of the Englewood Beach Villa Association, along with chairing several committees. I also served on the South Manasota Key Advisory Committee for eight years, including being Chairman of the Committee for two years.
One final note: I have been coming to Englewood since the 70’s and watched it grow and develop. I love this area and enjoy sharing it with newcomers looking to reside in PARADISE!

The man behind the name! In 2005, my business partner (my mother) and I opened Brett Barber and Company. Bringing ten years of real estate experience with me, partially in New York and then in Florida, along with my love for Englewood and its waterways. When I am not working, boating and being on the water is my next favorite thing. The waterways around Englewood are numerous but also intricate. If you are looking for a home on the water, I am the Realtor for you!
By land or by sea, I can show you any piece of property. It is a real plus for sellers too!! My love for Englewood goes back to 1978 when I first arrived here to visit by grandmother. I always knew this is where I would live. Englewood, Cape Haze, Rotonda West, Manasota Key, Venice, North Port, Port Charlotte – these are all part of our territory that we cover.

With combined Real Estate experience of over 20 years, this Father and Son team have helped many satisfied clients with their buying and selling needs. Larry Cornell and Danny Cornell came to Englewood from Maryland in 2001 and have been active and involved in the community ever since. They currently own Southwest Florida Dream Builders, a local custom home building company. Having 13 years of experience in building new homes has translated to their Real Estate careers in the form of bringing value to their seller’s property, and the ability to asses the homes their buyers have interest in.Working with Brett Barber and Company has been a great fit, bringing their family run business ideals together with the Barber Family.
